I know it has been over a month since I updated. I made an apt on May 28hth, called them back few days later to set up another apt 2 weeks before that so I can get this moving along and get it over with.
Well the apt I called to make I had to cancel due to my husband being very sick and I had no way to get there.
I got sick a week before my May 28th apt the original apt. I had the most wicked cough for 2 weeks. I had to cancel that apt and rescheduled a week later.
I went in finally after 5 weeks of not seeing my dentist last Thursday. He filled my top left teeth. I was so happy to see at lest either the top or bottom left done since some of my teeth are sharp and cuts my mouth up.
Before I go any further about my last Thursday Apt. The very first filling apt I had root canal done on the top right side. Not only I had 3 he saw he found 2 more. Yes I was in agony for a week and half. I was on pain pills for about 4 or 5 days. The other days I sucked it up cause I did not want to be taking too much pills. You know what happens when taking to much meds. You get bound up really bad and got issues going to the bathroom. Yeah really bad.
Other than that I feel great, I still have my temporary filling there. I will be asking him on my next apt which is tomorrow. Yay I am so looking forward the novocain.
Tomorrow I go in at 2 pm and he will do the bottom left. That is the biggest that needs done. Then the worst is over. I will have the bottom right left that needs done but there is only 2 there so that is nothing. Only problem I have is that I still hurt from where he shot me with novocane.
I am still hurting pretty bad on the top left. I think the only think would cause that is that my nerves were exposed for so long and he filled it, so being exposed and then covered. Your not used to that. I will ask him tomorrow about that as well.
Now he has emailed Dr.Peirce who operated on me 15 years ago from my very first Jaw Surgery. He has not heard back. He has not stopped trying. He is trying very hard to get this fixed and make me feel so good.
As far as the Cochlear Implant. I will be seeing a doctor at the Eye and Ear Hospital. The founder of the Beautiful Smiles wants to wait until I get my benefits.
Speaking of that I finally will be covered on July first. I just got my benefit card on Saturday. I am finally covered. I am getting there 1 step at a time.
Keep checking back for more updates.

3rd Step Completed
Well lets say mostly completed. I had my apt to finally get some of my filling done. Now It was a misunderstanding about the root canal. I had 3. Ugh novocain was painful enough for me, and then he started to do his whole 9 yards drilling my teeth first. Then spent most of his time filling the root canals. When he took the final xrays for the root canals, I had 2 more hidden with the other 3 so I had the total of 5, yes 5 root canals.
Ugh hate the thought of novocain. After he was done in 2 hours, he told me that I did great and very laid back to let him do his work. He was very pleased. He told me that he will do the next step of fillings and remove the temporary filling for the root canal with a permanent filling. I go back May 28th for another 2 hour procedure.
Oh I am so looking forward to novocain.
When the novocain started to wear off, I was in so much pain, not just the root canal, where he shot me with novocain twice hurts. I can not move my mouth or even smile. gah, but at least I got the day off at work tonight. Oh the joys of having a day off during the week is so nice.
I get to hog the pc until DJ (hubby) comes home at 2 am. :P hahahahha
Check back for more.

What a BORING night!!
I'm at work and we are ahead of our job and we are not done until 1:30am. Grrrrrrr
But I got a bit more info about the cochlear implants. He gave us a number to call Blue Cross and Blue Shield to set up insurance for me before we go any further.
Once I do that then we will get this ball rollin.
I am looking forward to see if I can get it and be able to hear better and hear more.
Also my dentist is working on getting ahold of my previous sergeon Dr.Andrews to see if he'd be willing to come out of his retirement and do the jaw surgery. I'd love that he is a great doctor and a great man. I trust him very well. Also I found out that I don't have 1 root canal I have 3. Ugh I am so not looking forward to it.
Check back for more updates.

2nd step completed
I got my teeth cleaned and wow it feels so nice. My teeth cleaner dentist was very pleased in how well I have been keeping my teeth cleaned with having so much cavities and 1 root canal.
I got prescription for antibiotics and fluoride.
Dr.Johnson is having a bit of trouble trying to find an oral surgeon to do my jaw surgery. But he is going to go ahead and do the fillings and root canal. My next apt is April 23rd. I am not sure what ones they will do and how many.
As far as cochlear implant is concern we have not heard anything back yet about that. I am in no rush for that at the moment. I biggest is getting my cavities and root canal taken care of as well as my jaw too.
Come back for new updates.

Today is the day
Today is my apt for teeth cleaning and hopefully Dr.Johnson will have more info about the jaw surgery on finding an oral surgeon.
Not only it is my apt day, the weather is absolutly georgous out here. 68 degrees is the high and I am sitting on my couch on the front porch. It is so nice to be able to enjoy this weather before docs apt or work.
We work nights so it is hard to be able to go out and enjoy the weather elsewhere during the week since we leave @ 4:30pm to get to work. But I try to go outside as much as I can through the nights.
Other than that not much going on. Check back tonight or tomorrow to read my update on what Dr.Johnson has to say.

Ugh Mondays!!
I hate mondays, I think everyone does pretty much because it is the first day of the week to go back to work. lol DJ and I had weekends off and it was very nice to have that, but when monday's roll around we know that we have to go back to work at 4:30pm.
But hey at least we get our paychecks so that is what we think about. But we do love our jobs, it is the most laid back and easiest job. No bosses to breath down your neck over stupid things and you do your job until your shift is done. Just as long as the job is done no complaints.
DJ and I both work for Central Maintenance company in Crafton. But we clean a corporate office called Foster Plaza in Greentree. We clean 5 companies and the 1st/2nd floor lobbies. We work from 5:30pm til 1:30am. By the end of the summer I will be going back part time due to the fact that I will be getting things set up for my surgery if they get it rolling for the jaw and cochlear implants. It will be easier to have our boss find someone for 2 companies by then, and when I take a leave of absent he will have someone take over my run for a while so I can recover.
No update on my jaw information or the cochlear implant information. The apt is still set up for Thursday for teeth cleaning. I will know more by then.
Other than complaining about Mondays. I am dying to go to Amish Country in Sugarcreek Ohio, also eat at the Der Dutchman restaurant. Man they got the best food and the best butterscotch cream pies. All home made foods by the Amish people. They are so good and so fresh. DJ and I are planing to have a weekend get away hopefully this summer. Take Friday off and come back to work Monday. This trip is only about 2 to 2.5 hours from Pittsburgh depending on the weather and traveling. We also stop at Tappan Lake in Ohio on our way to Sugarcreek Oh. Such a beautiful Lake to visit.
This is at Sugarcreek Ohio. An Amish home with a large farm.
This is at Tappan Lake Ohio. Such a beautiful place to visit.
Come back for more updates. I may just start up a photo gallery for our Amish country trips and other places. We just love taking nature photos.

Can't sleep grrrr
I normally go to bed when DJ goes to bed @ 9:30pm sat nights. DJ works every Sunday at playmor bowling alley just down the street.
But for some reason neither one of us could sleep. Talk about annoying. I would be up @ 8:15 am and meet him @ work and I bowl with him for a few hours. But we decided not to so DJ will be home after he is done working. It sux!!!
But anyways we have our lousy bowlers night. Let's see how we bowl. I now hook my ball differently.
No updates for the oral surgeon or for the cochlear implants.
If I do get cochlear implants I will be getting pretty cool colors for the device. It will be cool. Life's too short to wear plain boring colors. Live up ur life, live the fullest.
Keep checking back!

Step 1
Since I just started this late. My step one for my teeth and jaw was just last week.
I met with Dr.Mike Johnson from Aspenwall Pa. He took xrays and looked inside my mouth. Yeah pretty bad I got. I have 1 root canal and 13 cavities. The reason for this being so bad was because my jaw is misaligned and so severely underbite that causes my teeth to crack, and wearing down pretty bad. But the good news is that they do not have to pull any of my bad teeth out.
Dr. Johnson is looking for an oral surgeon who is very familiar with jaw surgery so they can meet with him and me. Before he does any fillings or root canal he wants to be sure that I do not need any tooth pulled or what not.
My 2nd apt is next thursday for teeth cleaning and we will know more from there.
Also we got another pretty fast surprise. The founder of the Beautiful Smiles of Pa called us and wanted to know if I would be interested in getting Cochlear Implant. I was not expecting that kind of news so fast after hearing from them that they will help me make me smile beautiful again.
I thought let's go and see what the audiologist say about this and my deafness. I would love to be able to hear out of my right ear more than anything. I can hear pretty well with my left with the use of the hearing aid. I know there are some side effects and flaws with possibly not working. So I thought since I can't hear out of my right ear with the use of the hearing aid as well I can give it a shot, if it works awesome, if it don't that is ok cause I can not hear out of that ear. I will know more once the founder of Beautiful Smiles of Pa calls us back about all of this.
To know more about the Beautiful Smiles.
Keep checking back for more.

Welcome to my world!
Well I decided to start a blog about my world.
My name is Angel and I live in Pittsburgh Pa. I am 31 years old married to a wonderful man DJ of 7 years on April 27th. I was born deaf in both ears and cleft lip and pallet.
I went to Depaul Institute for the deaf since I was a wee baby to learn speech and lip reading. I graduated from Depaul in 93 and went to Brashear High School from 93 to 95 then transfered to Taylor Allderdice High school from 95 to 97 when I graduated. I was 19 when I graduated from high school, Depaul tends to put us behind in grade and age.
This blog is going to talk about how I live in the deaf and hearing world also the process through teeth and jaw surgery. Also possibly getting Cochlear Implant. We will see about that.
Other than that I have no children, can't hav e any and would love to have a few. I am owned by my pets Samantha our german shepard/golden retriever mix who is 11 yrs old and Stanley Max our guinea pig who is 1 yrs old. They are my kiddos.
Keep checking back.
